Flexion Distraction Therapy

Flexion distraction therapy is a procedure often used for patients with disc problems. Flexion distraction manipulation can decompress the disc through a gentle stretch or grip in the lower spine, generally in a series of recurring slow movements. Flexion distraction therapy can also be used in other ways, such as mobilizing joints gently.

This technique uses a table to restore the normal physiological range of motion towards the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spinal joints. The moderate method works with the body’s natural design for proper healing. The flexion distraction adjustment includes transfer of metabolites into the spinal disc. It also decreases pressure and decompresses sore or compressed spinal nerve roots.
